At the end of a long, stressful day, couples look forward to getting between nice clean sheets and cuddling down for a peaceful night’s sleep.
But just as some couples differ in their political views, oftentimes they have a parting of the ways when it comes to what they think constitutes a comfortable mattress.
Some people enjoy sleeping on a rock-hard bed, while others prefer a mattress that’s as soft as swan feathers. What’s a couple to do? One solution is to visit Marty’s Furniture Company, Inc. on Washington Street where people can be custom fitted to a mattress manufactured by King Koil Comfort Solutions. These mattresses are designed to meet individual needs.
King Koil has developed a new generation of personalized sleeping comfort products with their new Sleep ID program where people are fitted to the mattress of their choice. And Marty’s is holding a special promotion (10 percent off) of these customized mattresses (and all bedding products) through mid-April that utilizes this high-tech system.
One woman who was shopping for a mattress stopped in at Marty’s recently and told him that the arthritis in her hip keeps her awake at night. She told Joe Tozza, Marty’s co-owner, that it felt like a nail was going right through her hip bone. “I’m in pain every single night,” she said. “No matter which side I sleep on, it feels like I have a big fat nail sticking in my hip.”
“This woman spends one-third of her life in bed,” said Tozza. “She might as well be comfortable, so I led her to our display of new Sleep ID mattresses.”
The King Koil mattresses come in four le vels of firmness, from plush to firm. Each mattress side can be fit to a customer’s liking. Shoppers begin by stepping up to a specialized computer kiosk and entering specific information about their sleep patterns, gender, height and weight. Sleep ID then presents pressure mapping data of how various sleep systems fit different body types, but it doesn’t require the consumer to lie down on a pressure mapping system. An extensive statistical analysis of information entered on the touch screen by the shopper enables the system to quickly zero in on the Sleep ID system that will best meet their support needs.
The system offers comfort and support options in three core levels. Each of those lines features encased coil innerspring models, cushioned with high-performance foams, latex or memory foams. The woman mentioned earlier in this article decided to order a Sleep ID mattress and box spring. “My husband and I just got our income tax return,” she said, then laughed and continued, “I can’t think of a better way to spend that money than on our comfort. My husband will be thrilled that he no longer has to feel feel guilty for wanting an extra firm mattress. And he’ll be even more thrilled that I won’t be complaining about my hip all the time.”
